When he opened the Mosque on May 27, 1984, Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.) gave a dedication speech about the deeper meaning of this beautiful place of worship. In this talk, he reminds us that God sent the prophets as messengers to prove His existence. Although God spoke to all prophets of the same rahmah, the people separated the prophets’ messages into various religions and created divisions among themselves. Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.) points out that God’s Truth is the same regardless of where it is found. God is One, and we are one family of mankind. We must not create separations among ourselves, because if we do, we cannot obtain the Truth. When we come to pray in this mosque, we must wage war against the self, destroy our ignorance, anger, and divisiveness and attain equality and serenity. This is our work, and it is called prayer.
