The first discourse of this booklet is titled Transcending the Five Elements. In it Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.) explains that God is a formless Power and a Light, and within this Power is a ray of Light called the soul. The power of the soul is the ability to find God. The soul resides temporarily within a form called the body, which is created of the five elements. The form of the body also contains the mind, which lives through the senses. Neither the body nor the mind will assist us in finding God.
…to be born a human being, to live as a gnāni, and to reach God is the rarest of all that is rare.If we can take this rare and precious birth without wasting the time we have left, it will be the victory of all victories. It will be a day of victory. We must learn the lessons we came here to learn without wasting time. There is absolutely nothing else to learn here.
In order to reach that destination, we must remain humble and continue to learn wisdom from within that Light.
In addition, this booklet also contains the discourses The Evil Qualities of the Mind and Body and Faith.
